First Time User - awesome Results
April 29, 2013
I purchased the Mahogany henna hair color. I only have a few strands of grey that are located in the front of my head, especially in the areas where I like to wear my part. I followed the instructions and added just a bit more apple cider vinegar the thin out the paste. I washed my hair, towel blotted it and then applied the henna. After washing it out and applying V05 conditioner, my hair was buttery soft. I noticed that my 4a/4b/4c hair was shinier and smoother. I have three textures in my hair and the henna helped to make them more uniform. I did a flat twist out and I noticed that when I applied my setting product, it easily soaked in and smoothed out my hair. It cut my styling time in half. My hair feels very strong and soft at the same time. I want to try a lighter color next time.
Best Uses:
For me it corrected my porosity problem.

Natural-Colors Henna - Dark Brown
April 6, 2013
I have short natural hair with gray mainly around my hair line. Followed instructions (added coffee and apple cider vinegar). The henna was easy to apply. The color was a little darker than I anticipated by it looks fine. I'll try another reviewer's suggestion next time and omit the coffee. It's been 6 weeks. It's time for a touch-up. Have already ordered the medium brown just in case omitting the coffee doesn't work. I have 2 additional bottles of dark brown remaining from my initial order of 3. One bottle was enough for the length of my hair. I am really satisfied with the product.

NO MORE GRAY!!!
January 12, 2013
I thoroughly enjoyed using this product! It covered my gray completely and gave me the red highlights I wanted as a bonus!! I've been natural for one year and I didn't like how the gray was looking. I used one and half containers with the coffee and apple cidar vinegar mixture. Will definitely continue to use!!

I am African American with natural, graying hair. I have tried many semi/demi colors. I must say this product covers my dusty brown, graying hair very well. I cleanse my hair often, and the color still lasts 4 to 6 weeks.

Covers Gray
November 16, 2012
The first time I used the product I added coffee as suggested. It did a great job of covering the gray but the color was much darker than expected. I now skip the coffee and just mix with apple cider vinegar. I am very pleased with the results. It does an excellent job of covering the gray and last much longer than any other color I've used.

Perfect
August 2, 2012
I had been nervous to color my hair (cover my gray) because all my home color treatments previously ended with dry, eventually breaking hair. When I came across this natural solution, I went for it. Awesome!! My hair is dark brown, I purchased the dark brown henna color. It turned my gray to a golden brown, and it looks great! My husband is very pleased ;-) The smell during the treatment was strong, and as it dried I had to be careful not to flake the pieces off. The product did not stain and was easy to apply. I will buy this over and over again.

Henna for gray coverage
July 15, 2012
Great product! This is my forth time ordering this product. I use it every 4 weeks and each time I use it the gray coverage last longer and longer. It also has gotten easier to apply. I can apply quickly now, leave it in for about an hour and rinse. You have to rinse really well because it will be grainy. even so, it is a really good product.

Will shampooing and conditioning your hair after right after applying this inhibit the color from covering gray hair? And what do I put in the henna? Some have suggested an egg, olive oil and apple cider but what amount? And how long do I leave it in? Is 90 minutes enough? Thanks! My hair in thin fine caucasian.
By Treasured Locks Staff on May 21, 2012

Answer:
Please shampoo before the application of the henna, not after. After the application you will rinse until the water runs clear, then condition.

Using apple cider vinegar in place of water will give better adherence of the henna. 60-90 minutes is sufficient time for the product to set properly. All other ingredients are best not used when applying henna. No eggs or olive oil please.

I purchased both Diva Smooth hair treatment and Baka´s Henna hair color. After reading the instructions on Baka´s hair coloring, I don´t know if I can use them together. Is it safe to use both treatments one after another?
By Treasured Locks Staff on October 20, 2011

Answer:
Yes. Diva Smooth can be used with henna coloring. The key is to remember the order. Make sure you use Diva Smooth before using the henna coloring. The henna coloring would be applied before flat ironing or pressing out the hair since applying the coloring will make the hair revert. You might notice the henna color darkening because of the heat.

Make sure to wait at least one week after doing henna coloring before applying Diva Smooth.

Last year, I ordered the Medium Brown color. Although the color was darker than expected, it worked very well (covered all grey) producing nice highlights! This year, I would like to have a lighter brown color with highlights. After reading other customer reviews, I was uncertain if the Auburn color or Mahogany color would provide me with lighter brown hair and nice highlights. I am aware that product selection is case-sensitive depending on several factors (type of hair, condition of hair, and individual response to henna products). Could you give me general advice on which color should produce lighter brown hair for me?
By Treasured Locks Staff on November 7, 2011

Answer:
In the Natural-Colors for Gray Hair there isn't a lighter brown option than the medium brown. In the other line of Natural-Colors there is a light brown color. The difference between the two is that the Natural-Colors for Gray Coverage is specially formulated to cover those stubborn gray hairs. If you want to try the Light Brown, you might find it works fine for you.

Please keep in mind that none of the henna treatments will give you lighter hair than your natural hair color. For example, if your hair is dark brown to begin with, using light brown will not lighten your hair. Lighter colors applied to dark hair will have minimal or no effect on the hair color.

By Treasured Locks Staff on July 24, 2012

Are there any chemicals in Natural-Colors for Gray Coverage?
By Treasured Locks Staff on July 24, 2012

Answer:
Natural-Colors for Gray Coverage contains less than 3% of a dye (after preparation). Recently, there have been reports that some chemical hair dyes might be linked to ovarian and breast cancer. This link is controversial. And, you know we don't like to perpetuate unproven rumors. It appears that at least some reputable professionals are concerned about this link. It looks like the greatest risk is to hair care professionals (who handle the products on a regular basis) and, if there is a link, it's weak at best. Darker colors and black are considered more risky because the chemicals in them are used at higher concentrations. Use of Natural-Colors for Gray Coverage minimizes potential risk from the use of the chemicals in permanent hair coloring products by using the dyes at a very low concentration.

I have about 50% grey hair and use a natural permanent hair color (no peroxide) that completely covers grey. Much of my grey hair is resistant and I have had it since age 21 years. I want to switch to henna because it is healthier and chemical-free. Can I use the Natural- Colors Henna for grey coverage on hair that has been previously colored with hair color? If yes, will I leave the henna on hair for the full 45 minutes? Are there any special procedures for using henna for grey coverage on previously colored hair? if yes, please explain.I have heard a rumor that henna will turn previously colored hair green in color. Of course, I don't want to risk having green hair.
Thanks for your help and directiion
By Treasured Locks Staff on December 19, 2011

Answer:
Natural-Colors for Grey Coverage is what you will want to use. Leave on for about an hour. It will not discolor previously colored hair. Full instructions for use are listed on our website and included with the product.

I purchased the henna for gray coverage, used it once. It did cover that well. I know I did follow directions completely. I forgot to use the apple cider vinegar and used water instead. However, i purchased more and plan to use it a second time. I want to know how to shampoo and condition my hair afterwards. I read somewhere that it is not advisable to use a leave in conditioner following a henna color treatment. Is this true?
By Treasured Locks Staff on March 12, 2012

Answer:
It is not true. It's fine to use a leave-in conditioner, after a properly applied henna color treatment.

Can I use this product along with the Natural-Laxer MIX?
By Treasured Locks Staff on March 30, 2012
