Treasured Locks Shea Butter Detangling Conditioner is a natural conditioner and detangler enriched with pure African Shea Butter, an excellent moisturizer for dry and chemically treated hair. Our conditioner is fortified with proteins, aloe, sugar cane and chamomile. Rinses clean with no heavy build-up.
Chemical processes (perms, colorings, highlights, relaxers, etc.) destroy part of the protein in your hair. Our shampoos and conditioners help to replenish that protein that has been lost. This reduces brittleness and leaves your hair strong and vibrant.
African hair also needs a great deal of moisture. Chemical treatments tend to reduce the moisture level of the hair. Even heat from curling irons, blow dryers and pressing combs destroy the moisture in the hair’s cuticle. Our moisturizing shampoos and conditioners return the hair to its correct pH level and moisturize. They provide a smooth, silky feel and leave your hair with a healthy luster. Our conditioners also help to detangle making hair easier to comb and reducing breakage that happens during comb-outs after shampooing.
Treasured Locks’ Conditioners are natural based, salon grade conditioners formulated specifically for the conditions common to African-American, bi-racial or chemically treated hair. African hair tends to be dry and is more fragile than Caucasian hair. Hair that has been chemically treated has been stripped of protein and other essential components and needs care to rebuild and repair the hair shaft. Our conditioners are specially formulated to meet these requirements.
Our conditioners use the finest natural ingredients. The difference between a salon grade conditioner and an over-the-counter conditioner is salon grade conditioners container higher amounts of the ingredients your hair needs. Many over-the-counter products add tiny amounts of herbs and other nutrients and boast about how they are good for your hair.

I have tried some of your products in the past, however it was brought to my attention that the use of cetearyl alcohol on natural hair is not good but many of your products contain this ingredient. Please tell me why Treasured Locks produces products with cetearyl alcohol when so many other natural products do not.

Answer:This is a great question. We realize that product ingredients can be confusing. There is a lot of misinformation out there. Alcohols come in different forms. Some are drying to hair. Some are actually moisturizing. Cetearyl alcohol is one of the ones that is a great thickener and moisturizer which is why it is in our conditioner. Other alcohols, such as those used in styling products, are designed to make the product evaporate quickly and can dry the hair.
