Description Today Rhassoul can be found in a few, high quality, international skin care products and is also used for purifying body and face masks by spas. HumiNature Rhassoul clay leaves the hair and skin unbelievably clean by removing excess oils and toxins. Leaves the skin and hair smooth, moisturized, clean, clear, firm and fresh. Rhassoul clay is an ancient clay that was formed under the mountains in Morocco in Northern Africa. The clay deposits are deeply buried which makes them very difficult to mine. In Ancient Rome and Egypt, Rhassoul has been used to naturally shampoo hair as it pulls out oil and debris. In Arabic the actual pronunciation of ghassool begins with a ghain, a sound highly difficult to emulate by native English speakers. For this reason many native English speakers have changed the pronunciation to a ra sound pronouncing it as rhassoul. Rhassoul clay has a long history of use in beauty care. It has been used for over 1400 years as a soap, shampoo and skin conditioner. It was used in ancient Rome and Egypt by the nobility. Today, it is a favorite with the finest spas and resorts worldwide. When first mined, Rhassoul clay is a brown, chunky soap-like clay. HumiNature Rhassoul is further refined and micronized. Micronized Rhassoul Clay yields a product that is finer and less textured than the common grade. Micronized Rhassoul Clay is well suited for more delicate applications like facial masks. The resulting powder is smooth and almost silky when rubbed between the fingers. This creates a fine, smooth paste that looks like chocolate pudding and feels wonderful going on as a mask. Rhassoul is invaluable for spa treatments and for personal use. Its extraordinary power of absorption makes it more effective than other clays for cleansing, detoxifying, and general skin treatment. Rhassoul clay is extremely rich in trace minerals. These minerals detoxify the skin using by extracting a variety of skin pollutants. Rhassoul can be used as soap, skin conditioner, shampoo, and facial and body mask and it washes like soap and leaves a unique, sweet scent on the skin. Rhassoul contains higher percentages of silica and magnesium along with potassium and calcium, than other clays. Therefore, Rhassoul is very effective. In addition to this, due to its greater smectic qualities, (its ability to swell when water is added) Rhassoul achieves better results in skin treatment. Clinical studies have been conducted on Rhassoul. In general Rhassoul:
- Reduces dryness
- Reduces flakiness
- Improves skin clarity
- Improves skin elasticity / firmness
- Improves skin texture
- Removes surface oil and oil from inside and around clogged pores
- Removes dead skin layers, resulting in a general smoothing of the surface skin

I bought this for my hair and I do love it for my curls, but I've only used it once. I was debating whether I liked it better than my other clay based wash, since it requires a bit of effort from me, but it is much cheaper than that brand. This week I decided to try it as a facial mask. SCORE! My combination (49 years old) skin loves clay based masks. This was perfect. It dries and tightens on the skin. I am here this morning (2 days after my facial) and my skin feels smooth. I will make this a part of my weekly regimen.

I really like this product. It makes my face feel really clean. A friend commented on hoe good my skin looked, so I shared some of the clay with her. She also likes it and I will be ordering some for her.

I have always been a huge fan of the Deep C Masque, however with the transition to its powdered form, the Deep C Masque was not as effective in maintaining the clearing of my skin as it has previously. I emailed customer service and told Brian of my dilemma and he offered to ship me the Rhassoul Clay as a substitute. Though, I was a bit hesitant in trying this, because I am loyal to the Deep C Masque and the entire HumiNature Acne Prone/Oil Defense Skin Care Regimen (you can see the three page essay review I left lol), I have absolutely no regrets about the clay and it works similarly to the Deep C Masque. I love it. It leaves my face tight, smooth and most importantly, it assists with the healing of the acne scars and occasional pimple flare up. I want to try to this in my locs, I'll have to do some research though. Thank you once again Treasured Locks - never fails to deliver!

I love this clay. My hair was clean and my curls were really defined. It made wearing a wash and go a beautiful experience for me. Ordering the product was simple and I did not have to wait forever for my product. I will definitely order from you again. My hair was soft and my curls and coils were defined. I loved how my curls popped before I used a styler. When I used it as a facial mask my skin felt clean, my complexion appeared lighter, and my pores appeared smaller.

I used the clay twice on my hair and it was amazing my hair felt clean and was easier to comb through. my hair also felt softer after using it. I have used it on my face twice, my face does feel clean but I think it is too soon to see the real difference. Overall the Rhassoul Clay is a very good product that is good to have and you don't have to use that much I have used it four different times and I have very thick hair, and I still have plenty more.

As an adult having to deal with acne can be a bit cumbersome. I've tried so many different products and have gone to four different dermatologists and spent hundreds of dollars on both over the counter (Proactive & Obaji skin care systems) and of course the doctor prescribe medicines nothing and I mean nothing has produced better results. The ingredients contained in Rhassoul Clay really works. After a two weeks ( I give a product 30 days) I really began to see a difference in my skin. My skin is brighter and have a very clean look (it's the best way I can describe the feeling). Since adding this to my facial regimen my skin tone continues to become more even and has helped me win the battle again adult acne. I use this product once a week. Although the jars are small it's worth every dime. I use this product and the HumiNature w/DMAE.
ProsIt tightens It draws out the impurities Leaves the skin refreshed Salon quality

I use this clay on my face once a week. My skin is combination (T-zone oiliness). I mix the clay with rose water (a little clay goes a long way) and sometimes I add a tsp. of plain yogurt. While I have it on, it just feels like it's deep-cleaning my skin. Now, I don't know if it really is or not--- but when I rinse it off, my skin is smooth and 'brighter' in some way. It works for me.
ProsIt's natural and effective
ConsMessy to rinse off, but hey, it's mud...

I'm using this to try and clear up my cystic acne. After two weeks, I haven't seen significant improvement, but I'm determined to be patient and persistent.
ProsInexpensive, fast shipping
ConsI've used nearly the entire container in 2 weeks, so a larger size might be nice.

I have used the clay three times and the results are the same ... your skin is so smooth and clean. Rhassoul Clay pulls out the impurities, a small amount goes a long way. Next I will try it on hair.
Prosdeep cleanser and smooth skin results
Cons if you use too much it gets very hard to come off, and it's not so much a dislike, as a precaution!
