Description Makes hair soft and sleek. Tames wild, curly hair. Great for bi-racial hair care when you want to wear a straighter style.

Treasured Locks' Curl Tamer is a unique styling product. Curl Tamer temporarily loosens the natural curl pattern of your hair allowing you to wear it in straighter styles. For our customers who have asked for products to temporarily tame their curly or frizzy hair, this is a great product to use on those days when you want more control. Perfect for biracial hair when you want to wear it straighter.

Hispanic hair, African American hair and bi-racial are just some of the hair types that can benefit from our Treasured Locks Curl Tamer. Anyone with curly hair that wants more control can use the Curl Tamer.

This model's hair had the curl tamer applied and gentle heat from a blow dryer. We were not going for a complete straight look. More heat would make the hair straighter.  Click for a larger picture.

I came across these products while on a search for hair products for my Biracial grandchildren. Other products seemed to sap their hair of its luster, and shine, leaving their long wavy locks looking dry and brittle. They love Treasured Locks products and I've won a lot of "I love you" points with my grandma. Thanks Treasured Locks.

Didn't tame curls and left hair dry and frizzy

This product really dried out my daughter's kinky curls and didn't tame her curls at all. I tried it on my other daughter's loose curls, and it didn't tame those either.
ConsDoesn't tame curls.

Great Instead of a Relaxer
March 27, 2010
My 10 yr old son wanted to "experiment" with straightening his hair. After researching relaxers, I knew that wasn't for us. This is a wonderful substitute and much safer. It probably doesn't do the same job as a relaxer, but he was happy with it. And his hair seemed softer after use too.
Merchant Response:Curl Tamer is intended to be used in conjunction with blow drying. Instructions are on the product and on the website.
ProsSafer for kids than relaxers.
ConsDoesn't totally straighten, unless we didn't use it properly.

Do you have to apply heat for this to work or can you let your hair dry naturally?
If you want your hair to be straight, the product must be used with heat. If used without heat, it will reduce frizziness but not straighten hair.

How long does this last Will you have to reapply it every time you wash your hair
It'll last for a couple of weeks or until you wash your hair. It will have to be reapplied when you wash your hair.
