This is by far one of my shampoos to order from Treasured Locks! (Maybe favorite one of all time). Not only does it have such an amazing and lovely smell but it cleans and enriches my scalp leaving me feeling clean without the added chemicals and sulfates. Excellent product!

I used this shampoo for the first time on Monday. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was not going to suds up. I could not believe the suds. It left my head and hair feeling clean and smelling wonderful. Next time, I will use less shampoo, A lot less.
So good, so far

Last weekend I washed my hair for the first time with this shampoo and I immediately enjoyed the cool sensation I received. One week later. My hair is still soft and moisturized.

I like this shampoo. I have to be careful of the product I use in my head since I have a sensitive scalp and also have locs. No, it doesn't lather as well as sulfate-based shampoos, but the cleaning is gentle and thorough.

This shampoo really made my hair feel great! It makes ur scalp tingle a bit, which is kinda refreshing. It also leaves your hair feeling clean but not super dry. I love it! It's not super sudsy, but it gets your hair clean.

Like the way it cleans my hair. Doesn't require a lot to clean, so bottle should last a long time.

I've tried this product and really like that it has no sulfates - which are rough on your hair. I've tried others in the past that are comparable, but much more expensive. For a non sulfate shampoo - this one is a great value!
ProsInexpensive No sulfates Gentle on my hair

Hi there! I'm caucasian with super fine (but really thick) hair with an oily scalp. Would this shampoo be to heavy for me and if so are there any of yours that you'd recommend instead? Thank you! I prefer silicone free because it really weighs my hair down.
We think this shampoo would be great for you.

do you need use a conditioner with this shampoo
It is not required to use a conditioner. But, we suggest the use of a conditioner with any shampoo. Conditioners help to smooth the hair making it appear more shiny and reducing breakage. This is especially important for African-American hair.

Hello! I stumbled across your website researching hair product ingredients. I can't explain how wonderful it feels to find such a wealth of information and products for my natural hair ( I big chopped almost 3 months ago). Anyway, my question is about the Treasured Locks Shampoo w/ Peppermint and Tea Tree oil. I read the Ingredients tab and saw that Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is listed. At the same time, the description says there is no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. I have learned that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is drying to the hair and I have had much success with my Sulfate-Free shampoo. What is the difference between the two ingredients?
Without getting too complicated, the answer to your question is that while the product ingredient names sound similar, they are different surfactants (ingredients that help break up dirt and make shampoos work). Sodium Laurel sulfate, in particular, and sulfates in general, have gotten a bad rap from some in the industry. Some sulfates are milder than others. The surfactant in our shampoo is not a sulfate. We have written an article on sodium laurel sulfate and our opinion of it. Many manufacturers are offering sulfate free shampoos to appeal to customers who are looking for sulfate free alternatives.
