To give you a way to compare the products we offer, we have developed this product guide.  Of course, we think all of our products are fantastic.  We are gathering what we believe to be the best possible products for African American hair care- particularly for those people interested in natural hair care products for Black hair care.  So, when it comes to Black hair care, we don’t think you can go too far wrong with any of our products.  We do not sell any products we do not believe in very strongly or would not use ourselves. However, we realize you have to make choices, even among our products and we want to give you as much guidance as we can. 

One question we get quite often is “Are your products only for African American hair care?”  The answer is “No".  While most of our products would not be suited for some hair types (for example people with oily hair); we have Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic and other customers who have found our products to be very helpful.  That is particularly true for people with dry, damaged or chemically treated hair.  Anyone with highly textured (curly or kinky hair) or hair that tends to be dry can benefit from our products.

Some of the comments we have included are objective some are subjective. What makes a product more natural than another, and whether that is necessarily a good thing, is a subjective decision.  We believe, in general, the more natural a product the better.  However, completely natural products may not clean as effectively, foam as well or have as long a shelf life.  Also, what some people call natural, others say is not natural. All of our shampoos are naturally based shampoos.  Every single one is a superior quality shampoo well suited for black hair care or for biracial hair.  All are of a better grade that is available at your local supermarket. And, each rivals or surpasses what you will find in the finest salon, at higher prices.  Each cleans well and is specially formulated for dry to normal hair types.  Some use Sodium Laurel Sulfate (click the link for more information on this ingredient). Some use milder sulfates and some are sulfate-free.   Our shampoos are great for normal to dry hair.  They are well suited for both relaxed and natural hair.  Most African-Americans or biracial people require moisturizing shampoos or at least shampoos that are mild enough not to strip the natural oils from hair and scalp.

All of our conditioners are suited for dry to normal hair. We believe they are the best available conditioners for black hair and for biracial hair. They are excellent for sun-damaged, wind damaged, chemically damaged or just plain neglected hair.  Some are rinse-out, for use after shampooing, and some are leave-in and can be used as a daily hair dressing.  All are completely natural or naturally based.

We have a large selection of hair and scalp oils for black hair care.  Most black people and many biracial people will find they need to add oil to their and/or scalp.  Our product selection ranges from very lightweight all natural oils to heavier pomades.  Choose the consistency that is best for your type of hair.
