How it works On a normal head of hair there are roughly 100,000 strands of hair, each going through its own cycle. Hair grows (anagen phase- lasts about 4 years), hair rests (catagen phase- hair follicle regresses) and hair sheds (telogen) phase. Normally about 90% of hair follicles are in the anagen phase. But, the average person sheds about 50-60 hairs per day. Normal hair grows at a rate of about 1/2 inch per month. But, this varies by person (genetics). Hair growth is also effected by nutrition, stress levels, moisture, heat and oil balance. Proper treatment of the hair and scalp along with proper nutrition will allow you to reach your maximum potential hair growth. I absolutely love this serum! I've been wearing my hair natural for about three years now hoping that it would help my hair to grow. Unfortunately, I was unaware that pulling my hair back into a pony tail everyday was causing the hair I did grow to break off. This left the hair in the middle of my head shorter than the back and front of my head. But this product changed all that! It really works and has helped strengthen my hair so that even though I go back to wearing a pony tail every now and then, the hair doesn't break off. I'm very impressed.

I've had an Afro for about a year and during that time I've struggled with different products that would keep my hair and scalp moisturized and healthy without weighing it down. I've tried different sprays, oils, and moisturizers - some from the drugstore, others from high end beauty shops - to no avail. After asking the Treasured Locks team they suggested this H2G Hair Growth Serum, I decided to go for it.

I'm so glad that I did! This product works very well, it keeps my hair and scalp moisturized and doesn't weigh it down. It's very light. Also, I'd have to disagree with people who don't like the scent, I actually like the way it smells, especially right after I've applied it on hair. :c) I definitely recommend this product.

The formula has a strong herbal smell, but seems to dissipate very quickly. It's light with no heavy build up so I was able to use it everyday. Although pricey, it lasted for 22 days. I didn't see any growth in such short period of time, but it helped to condition my hair and scalp.

Though I recently received this item, I like it. It's not greasy especially to be called an oil; guess that's why more specifically it's a 'serum'. Softens my hair it seems and it gives my daughter's hair that's a different texture than mine some shine and additional softness. Too early to say it's growing our hair. Perhaps for that, I"ll be back.

I told a friend about the treasured locks website and how much I loved the growth pills but she doesnt like to take pills, so she decided to order this growth serum. I was skeptical about the serum so the first chance I got to use it was at her place...i definitely stole it from her for a couple of days, before she realized it was gone! I just love the smell and how fast it works. I just love the conditioning feeling that I get and how I dont feel like it weighs my hair down. I will most likely be ordering this VERY SOON.

I used the hair growth serum previously. My hair was growing and people were commenting on the growth. I stopped using it and seems the growth stopped. So I am giving it another try. The scent is strong in the beginning. Throughout the day the smell goes away. It is a stinky smell. The smell is similiar to Sulfur 8.

The fragrance of the Hair Growth Serum comes from the essential oils used in the product. The blend is proprietary. But, there is definitely no sulfur smell. It's really nothing like Sulfur 8 in our opinion.

When I went natural about a year ago I started doing research on natural oils. I am so glad I came across this product. I was buying different oils and combining them myself. This product made it a lot easier for me. It includes all of the natural oils In one bottle. I use it on my hair and my three daughters. I rotate it with the argon oil, and the hair elixir. Smells a bit strong, but not as strong as I was led to believe from other reviews. It's a bit heavy for my hair, but i put it on at night, throw a scarf on and in the morning the smell dissipates it sinks into my hair a bit and I 'm good for the week. Haven't noticed a difference in hair growth, but it does feel a bit tingly when I put it on...so it's doing something lol

i really love the H2G growth serum, i brought my first bottle in May and i seen a difference in my hair in July. I currently have pixie braids and you would not believe the new growth that i have. The smell is strong but it doesn't stink. I oil my scalp at night and put on silk bonnet. I luv it.

WELL,, it started with the purchase of a front lace wig... worse mistake ever for anyone with thinning hair... the front lace wig finished taking my hair completely out.. My hair was already thin for the jump but to have it completely remove from the lace wig.. I have tried all of the hair growth product to no availability.. just wasted my money So i was pissed no side line hair and broke.. Then I found Treasure Locks Product the best ever product..I have been using this product for over a month. And I love the results that I'm seeing.. it's the best thing that happen to my hair.. I recently purchased this items and I have been using it in my braids. I must say before I got the braids and had a chance to use the serum I was pleased with the texture of my hair. After, about two months of wearing the braids and using the product, I hope to give a five star review.

I absolutely love this product! I ahve tried a lot of hair oils in the past that claim to be for African American hair, but I always found that not only did they not hydrate my hair, they left it oily and drippy which I hate. Don't get me wrong, this product will leave your hair oily, but it does not take alot to make your hair feel moisturized, so it will not be drippy. I also use it on my daughter's hair after I wash it, and I love how it makes their hair feel after it air drys. I have finally found a product that makes all of our hair happy and I am sticking with it!

I have been using this product for over a month and unlike the other reviews, I do not see much change and little if any hair growth that is why I rated it with two stars. It does make your scalp and hair feel good and it does not weigh your hair down so this is a plus. I would only recommend it to a friend for the purpose that it does sooth the scalp. For the price, the bottle could be a little larger. I will finish using the bottle I have and will revisit your site and maybe I will have seen some improvement in my hair and the growth.

I had read that the fragrance of this product was a bit strong and was concerned at first. I found that the fragrance was pleasant. I have only used it for a week so I can't say if I have experienced growth. I have gray color hair, which some consider it to be white, and was concerned that the color of the product would cause my white hair to turn yellow. It did not turn my hair yellow. Therefore I would rate this product a "5" due to the fact it did not change the color of my white hair.

I am Caucasian and have tried every product to try to get my hair to grow. This does work!! Even my beautician who colors my hair was amazed by my hair growth. However, I really wish I could change the smell. I am stepping away from using this product because the smell makes me nauseous. I'm so bummed.

I have been using the growth serum for about a month now and i love it. I'm newly natural and I wanted a product that would stimulate my hair to grow even faster than it normally does. I just cut off ALL of my hair and I was terrified. I purchased this product after reading ALL of the reviews. My hair is thicker and longer in the back where it was shaved and my stylist has noticed a considerable difference in the 2 weeks I've been using this product. My hair is softer and seems to be a bit thicker (I already have thick hair). On a side note, I have very sensitive acne prone skin and this product does not irritate it.

Extremely lightweight and a small amount does go a long way. It also mixes well with my other hair products, which coincidentally eradicate the scent.

The scent is not very appealing. It's not terrible but it could be better (4 stars because if the scent).

I like the way this serum feels on my scalp. My previous serum was too thick and would leave residue on my pillow cases. I've owned this for a good 2 weeks now and my hair feels thicker and strong...no shedding. Great serum.

This serum is on the thicker side, which is good for a 4a hair type like me. Lasts longer than other serums I've used in the past. I am using this serum in conjunction with the Emu shampoo and conditioner and I have noticed growth within a few weeks

Softer, longer, healthier hair. Smells isn't as bad as people say. Just herbal. This product along with the hair & scalp elixir, herbal hair balm, and shea butter leave in conditioner are my favorites and a must have now. I think they do more for my hair than the emu oil shampoo and conditioner.

I have only used product going on two weeks and think it is too soon to rate for any hair growth and texture improvement. My hair is very thin and brittle. I have not seen any visible changes as of yet. Still hopeful. I use twice a day morning and evening and shampoo o regular basis. I have noticed my hair is not sheding as it once did. Just a minimal amount of noticeable hair loss. Product does not soften hair as I had expected based on advertisment

Does not aid with softening of brittle and rough hair texture. My hair is natural. I have not seen any significat hair growth or thickening as productt claims. Scalp tingles but that is the extent of it for now.

I have only been using the Growth Serum for a couple of weeks now, but it seems to be a good product. My scalp tingles when I massage it into my hair at the root. To me, it smells like lavender which I happen to like a lot. I'm going to continue using it in hopes that I'll see some changes in my hair growth.

I really expected this product to make my hair like all the other oil products I've used that were either recommended by my hairstylist or someone else. I expected my hair to be just stringy and just oily. I always used the recommended amount and no matter how much I used, my hair looked dirty and oily. With the TL Hair Growth Serum, I used a small amount before I went to bed for the first week and found that my hair moved easier, was light and healthy looking, not dull and dirty. I use anywhere from a dime to a quarter sized (depending on how long before my next retouch) and my hair always looks the same. I absolutely love this product and will recommend it to family members.

It's been about 4 weeks since I started using the Hair Growth Serum & so far, I really like it. It has a bit of a "medicinal" smell, but that's not offensive to me. I use it at night & cover my head with a satin scarf. I'm single, but no one at work complains about the smell.in the morning. Initially I felt a tingling on my scalp when I applied it. I don't have as many bumps as before. I think there's some fuzz growing in the thinnist places & I hope it's not my imagination. Need to re-evaluate it in several more weeks, but I plan to order more.

I was skeptical about this item when I first found the site through a search engine. But after using it a few weeks, the item really does work. You don't have to use a lot, but it really does help your hair grow. I put a small amount in every night before I go to bed and wrap my hair. My hair is also softer. The hair in the middle of my head is barely there, but since using the oil, I have cute little baby curls growing. It shouldn't be too long til it's long enough to get a perm!

I always put this on after towel drying my hair while my hair is damp and the scalp pores are cleaned. It takes a while to work it in; We already know that oil and water don't mix well and that is why. I am going to wait and see what results I truly get when I get to the bottom of the bottle. I have only used it for a week - too soon to tell with all the claims the product is making.

Usually I don't believe anything people write about hair growth after a month of use. But, my braids are hanging off my scalp. That's the only way I can explain it. I believe I just got a little extra growth than I never had before, so fast. In gonna do more research by buying more, here's a hint, use a medicine dropper and put oil directly on scalp this also avoids waste. Too precious for waste.

HI,

I am an African American female who has been natural now for 9 months now and have been searching for a product that would not only help my scalp but stimulate grow. I came across your website while searching google and I have been thanking God every since. This is the first product that I can truly say does what it says. I have been using the Hair Growth Serum along with the H2G Shampoo & Conditioner for 1 month, and "WOW" is all I can say.

The conditioner is "ABSOLUTELY" the best.....after I washed my hair and applied the conditioner my was "instantaneusly" soft and more manageable then ever. I use this on my 2 daughters as well and we have watched our hair begin to transtion....and Oh did I mention that our hair has begun to grow even around our edges and temple areas. Just started using the serum this week when my 1st product order quickly arrived! Was very, VERY hesitant to order it as I have ordered Emu Oil from another company-- the smell of theirs was like that of rancid duck grease-- I couldn't get past the smell to put in my hair again. But this H2G serum with Emu oil smells great "to me" - even my family thinks it smells great in my hair, especially when using it on freshly washed and dried hair. I have longer hair, but it is thinning hair to the point I was afraid to wash it because of the fallout! Have been applying the serum for almost a week now at night-- wrap my hair to let it soak into my scalp overnight-- am now experiencing only a few hairs in the comb in the morning! Used the H2G shampoo and conditioner and for the first time in WEEKS had a small amount of hair to come out. Great stuff! So not sure yet if it's from using the serum 1st and then washing it later in the week. Taking the H2G Growth supplements too. I am going to report back to you in about 6 weeks and let you know if I am still happy with your products! I know there is no "cure" but if these products help relieve the loss I have had so far and keep hair on my head, I will be overjoyed! By the way, I am 52 with natural hair, with some gray as an FYI for my other sisters out there who may be in the same situation with their own hair.

I ordered this wonderful product nine months ago and my hair is stronger than ever! My hair and scalp absorbs this oil like crazy so it is obviously very nourishing. My hair is currently in a growing phase and I am using the oil daily and I kid you not....my hair is growing at a record rate for me. I am in awe!!!! I won't break it off with ponytails this time. I noticed that my hair had started to fall out in the back due to a few things, a wool coat, stress, and a horrible diet - after I left my salon completely depressed about the patch in the back I immediately began researching products that would help me. I stumbled across the Treasured Locks website, and after reading so many positive reviews I decided to try some of the products - reluctantly - I never really expected them to work - but I was desperate. I ordered the H2G vitamins, the serum, and the EMU shampoo and conditioner and, well - to my surprise my hair almost instantly looked and felt better. I couldn't believe it. I am the biggest skeptic in all the world and I found myself on the phone literally gushing about your products. My friends couldn't believe it. The growth serum especially surprised me, because I HATE most oils. I hate that they make my hair greasy and heavy - so when I told my friend that I was putting an oil on my hair daily, her jaw dropped. This serum is magnificent I have a very sensitive scalp that was painful to touch especially in the crown of my head and slight itching. After two days of using this serum my scalp does not ache and I can touch it again and the itching is gone also. Excellent product.

I am a woman of mixed race. I recently had 4 surgeries due to carpal tunnel and tennis elbow. I used to color my hair at home. All the anethesia had an adverse affect with the hair color. Dear Tywana, I just wanted to leave a commentary about the H2G growth serum. When I first ordered it, I thought, "oh, here I go again wasting my money; believing another snake oil salesman". But H2G is anything but. I've been using it about a year and my hair has grown so beautifully, even at the hairline! And speaking of the hairline, I have terrible acne which has to be controlled by prescription medication. Any oil that I used at the hairline, caused a terrible outbreak. Your oil does not. My hair is so soft, I can't keep my hands out of it. It even smooths and softens my damaged ends and really helped to stop the breakage. Of all the oils I have used, this is the best. My shipment arrived yesterday and after reading prior testimonials, I was eager to sample everything. I decided to try this serum that evening and wrapped my hair. This is a wonderful product. My hair had become damaged and full of breakage due to wearing micro-mini braids. This product is great! I just recently purchased this Serum because like most other African American women, I fell victim to yet another stylist who knew nothing about caring for healthy hair. My hair began to break drastically. I started my own home regimen to bring my hair back and this Serum is apart of that regime. It is remarkable. The amount of growth I experienced in a 2 week period is amazing. I usually get a touch up every 6-8 weeks but, I may need one sooner because of the new growth I have after only a 3 week period. I was not sure if this Serum was the reason for my growth at first (I use other products as part of my weekly routine) but, when I cut out one of the products and replaced it with the Serum the results were immediate and very noticeable. This stuff is amazing!
