How it works On a normal head of hair there are roughly 100,000 strands of hair, each going through its own cycle. Hair grows (anagen phase- lasts about 4 years), hair rests (catagen phase- hair follicle regresses) and hair sheds (telogen) phase. Normally about 90% of hair follicles are in the anagen phase. But, the average person sheds about 50-60 hairs per day. Normal hair grows at a rate of about 1/2 inch per month. But, this varies by person (genetics). Stopped the Breakage

I absolutely love this serum! I've been wearing my hair natural for about three years now hoping that it would help my hair to grow. Unfortunately, I was unaware that pulling my hair back into a pony tail everyday was causing the hair I did grow to break off. This left the hair in the middle of my head shorter than the back and front of my head. But this product changed all that! It really works and has helped strengthen my hair so that even though I go back to wearing a pony tail every now and then, the hair doesn't break off. I'm very impressed.

The formula has a strong herbal smell, but seems to dissipate very quickly. It's light with no heavy build up so I was able to use it everyday. Although pricey, it lasted for 22 days. I didn't see any growth in such short period of time, but it helped to condition my hair and scalp.

I told a friend about the treasured locks website and how much I loved the growth pills but she doesnt like to take pills, so she decided to order this growth serum. I was skeptical about the serum so the first chance I got to use it was at her place...i definitely stole it from her for a couple of days, before she realized it was gone! I just love the smell and how fast it works. I just love the conditioning feeling that I get and how I dont feel like it weighs my hair down. I will most likely be ordering this VERY SOON.

I used the hair growth serum previously. My hair was growing and people were commenting on the growth. I stopped using it and seems the growth stopped. So I am giving it another try. The scent is strong in the beginning. Throughout the day the smell goes away. It is a stinky smell. The smell is similiar to Sulfur 8.

Smells a bit strong, but not as strong as I was led to believe from other reviews. It's a bit heavy for my hair, but i put it on at night, throw a scarf on and in the morning the smell dissipates it sinks into my hair a bit and I 'm good for the week. Haven't noticed a difference in hair growth, but it does feel a bit tingly when I put it on...so it's doing something lol

WELL,, it started with the purchase of a front lace wig... worse mistake ever for anyone with thinning hair... the front lace wig finished taking my hair completely out.. My hair was already thin for the jump but to have it completely remove from the lace wig.. I recently purchased this items and I have been using it in my braids. I must say before I got the braids and had a chance to use the serum I was pleased with the texture of my hair. After, about two months of wearing the braids and using the product, I hope to give a five star review.

I absolutely love this product! I ahve tried a lot of hair oils in the past that claim to be for African American hair, but I always found that not only did they not hydrate my hair, they left it oily and drippy which I hate. Don't get me wrong, this product will leave your hair oily, but it does not take alot to make your hair feel moisturized, so it will not be drippy. I also use it on my daughter's hair after I wash it, and I love how it makes their hair feel after it air drys. I have finally found a product that makes all of our hair happy and I am sticking with it!

I have been using this product for over a month and unlike the other reviews, I do not see much change and little if any hair growth that is why I rated it with two stars. It does make your scalp and hair feel good and it does not weigh your hair down so this is a plus. I would only recommend it to a friend for the purpose that it does sooth the scalp. For the price, the bottle could be a little larger. I will finish using the bottle I have and will revisit your site and maybe I will have seen some improvement in my hair and the growth.

I had read that the fragrance of this product was a bit strong and was concerned at first. I found that the fragrance was pleasant. I have only used it for a week so I can't say if I have experienced growth. I have gray color hair, which some consider it to be white, and was concerned that the color of the product would cause my white hair to turn yellow. It did not turn my hair yellow. Therefore I would rate this product a "5" due to the fact it did not change the color of my white hair.

I am Caucasian and have tried every product to try to get my hair to grow. This does work!! Even my beautician who colors my hair was amazed by my hair growth. However, I really wish I could change the smell. I am stepping away from using this product because the smell makes me nauseous. I'm so bummed.

I'm newly natural and I wanted a product that would stimulate my hair to grow even faster than it normally does. I just cut off ALL of my hair and I was terrified. I purchased this product after reading ALL of the reviews. My hair is thicker and longer in the back where it was shaved and my stylist has noticed a considerable difference in the 2 weeks I've been using this product. My hair is softer and seems to be a bit thicker (I already have thick hair). On a side note, I have very sensitive acne prone skin and this product does not irritate it.

Extremely lightweight and a small amount does go a long way. It also mixes well with my other hair products, which coincidentally eradicate the scent.

The scent is not very appealing. It's not terrible but it could be better (4 stars because if the scent).

I've had an Afro for about a year and during that time I've struggled with different products that would keep my hair and scalp moisturized and healthy without weighing it down. I'm so glad that I did! This product works very well, it keeps my hair and scalp moisturized and doesn't weigh it down. It's very light. Also, I'd have to disagree with people who don't like the scent, I actually like the way it smells, especially right after I've applied it on hair. :c) I definitely recommend this product.

Softer, longer, healthier hair. Smells isn't as bad as people say. Just herbal. This product along with the hair & scalp elixir, herbal hair balm, and shea butter leave in conditioner are my favorites and a must have now. I think they do more for my hair than the emu oil shampoo and conditioner.

I have only used product going on two weeks and think it is too soon to rate for any hair growth and texture improvement. My hair is very thin and brittle. I have not seen any visible changes as of yet. Still hopeful. I use twice a day morning and evening and shampoo o regular basis. I have noticed my hair is not sheding as it once did. Just a minimal amount of noticeable hair loss. Product does not soften hair as I had expected based on advertisment

I have only been using the Growth Serum for a couple of weeks now, but it seems to be a good product. My scalp tingles when I massage it into my hair at the root. To me, it smells like lavender which I happen to like a lot. I'm going to continue using it in hopes that I'll see some changes in my hair growth.

I really expected this product to make my hair like all the other oil products I've used that were either recommended by my hairstylist or someone else. I expected my hair to be just stringy and just oily. I always used the recommended amount and no matter how much I used, my hair looked dirty and oily. With the TL Hair Growth Serum, I used a small amount before I went to bed for the first week and found that my hair moved easier, was light and healthy looking, not dull and dirty. I use anywhere from a dime to a quarter sized (depending on how long before my next retouch) and my hair always looks the same. I absolutely love this product and will recommend it to family members.

It's been about 4 weeks since I started using the Hair Growth Serum & so far, I really like it. It has a bit of a "medicinal" smell, but that's not offensive to me. I use it at night & cover my head with a satin scarf. I'm single, but no one at work complains about the smell.in the morning. Initially I felt a tingling on my scalp when I applied it. I don't have as many bumps as before. I think there's some fuzz growing in the thinnist places & I hope it's not my imagination. Need to re-evaluate it in several more weeks, but I plan to order more.

I was skeptical about this item when I first found the site through a search engine. But after using it a few weeks, the item really does work. You don't have to use a lot, but it really does help your hair grow. I put a small amount in every night before I go to bed and wrap my hair. My hair is also softer. The hair in the middle of my head is barely there, but since using the oil, I have cute little baby curls growing. It shouldn't be too long til it's long enough to get a perm!

Does this serum contain nut products? I am depserately trying to get my 2 year old daughter's hair to grow. She has very full hair at the top of her head, but the sides and the back are very thing and brittle. Yes, anything that contains shea oil or shea butter contains a nut product as shea butter is extracted from the shea nut which is a tree nut.

Is it normal for it to settle and thicken after a couple of weeks? It has turned into kind of a milky color that doesn't exactly disappear when I shake it. Am I suppose to warm it prior to use or could this be a bad batch?

Answer:

Yes, it's very normal for the product to get cloudy and for that cloud to settle near the bottom of the bottle. The cloudiness is from the emu oil we use which is semi-solid at room temperature. In very warm conditions, the solid particles will become liquid. At normal room conditions, the product will be cloudy. The emu oil will melt below your body temperature.

Shaking the product before using and rubbing it in your hands before applying to the hair will disperse and melt the solid particles. We sometimes will pop ours into the microwave for a few seconds to get it to go all nice and golden colored and clear. But, as soon as it gets back to room temperature, the particles solidify again. It's not a problem, just the nature of the product.
